πŸ‡ΈπŸ‡¦ Pakistan has reportedly deployed thousands of troops, fighter jets, and air defense systems to Saudi Arabia under a mutual defense agreement, according to Reuters sources, amid rising regional tensions linked to the Iran conflict.

Security and government officials cited in the report say the deployment includes:
β€’ Around 8,000 Pakistani troops
β€’ A squadron of approximately 16 JF-17 fighter jets
β€’ Drone squadrons and a Chinese-made HQ-9 air defense system
β€’ Additional military support on standby if required

The forces are reportedly intended to strengthen Saudi Arabia’s defensive capabilities in case of further regional escalation.

Neither the Saudi government nor Pakistan’s military officially confirmed the deployment. However, both countries maintain a long-standing strategic and military partnership that includes defense cooperation, training, and joint security arrangements.

The report comes as Gulf states remain on high alert following recent attacks on regional energy infrastructure and continued instability surrounding Iran and the Strait of Hormuz.

Analysts say the move highlights growing security coordination between Riyadh and Islamabad as fears of a broader Middle East conflict continue to rise.

The reported deployment details were published by Reuters and Arab News on May 19, 2026.
